Tiffani Love is a landscape painter originally from Northern New York. Much of her inspiration is derived from a deep connection she has developed with the raw, natural landscape of Ireland. Tiffani has exhibited her work in multiple solo and group shows, and has appeared in Tír na nÓg Literature/Art Magazine and ZPlatt Literary/Arts Journal. Her recent exhibition, Walking Across Ireland, featured new landscape paintings inspired by her 370 mile solo thru-hike across Ireland.
Tiffani is currently based in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, Ireland, where she is pursuing her MFA degree at the Burren College of Art.
My paintings are driven by the history of a specific place, which creates a personalized energy for every landscape. I am in awe of the way landscapes shift over time. Nature constantly faces elements that trigger change, such as severe weather, erosion, and human interference. However, the landscape always adapts and endures, holding onto pieces of the past in the process. Through painting, I work to depict the energy, history, and vibrant sensations exuded by the natural world.
I have found inspiration in the places I have called home, Northern New York and Middle Tennessee. However, over the past five years, the primary source of inspiration for my work has been the landscapes of Ireland. No other place draws me in and challenges me like the Irish landscape. I am constantly working to deepen my understanding of its complex dualities, being playful and rugged, inviting and unforgiving. My artistic practice involves engagement with nature through the act of walking. This time alone in the landscape allows for a connection and communication between myself and the natural world. In dedicating myself to my subject, I hope to inspire viewers to slow down and recognize the importance of the natural world.
